This was created after lots of thinking on how to tease the taste buds between hot and sweet. These, paired with grilled asparagus and a good red wine, make for an awesome meal that will have your taste buds screaming for more. When cooked right, the seasoning mixture will practically caramelize over the chops. This helps seal in the juices and gives delicious flavor. Hope you guys enjoy.
Southern Sweet Grilled Pork Chops Ingredients
cup barbeque sauce
cup apple butter
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon ground black pepper
2 cloves garlic, minced
3 (4 ounce) pork chops
How to Make Southern Sweet Grilled Pork Chops
Whisk barbeque sauce, apple butter, brown sugar, black pepper, and garlic together in a microwave-safe bowl; heat in microwave until sugar dissolves, about 30 seconds. Stir until sauce is smooth.
Place pork chops on a plate and pour sauce over chops. Refrigerate for flavors to soak into pork chops, 1 to 2 hours.
Preheat an outdoor grill for medium-high heat and lightly oil the grate.
Cook pork chops on grill until cooked through, about 15 minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read 145 degrees F (63 degrees C).

Southern Sweet Grilled Pork Chops Reviews
I prepared as written with 1/4c honey bbq sauce and 1/4c spicy bbq sauce. I baked it in the oven at 425 for 10min on each side. These turned out great Very good flavor
Very easy to make...the sauce glazes to the pork chops and its great. My kids loved the sweet aspect to the sauce and devoured the pork chops.
Absolutely delicious. I bought a pork loin and brined using Baking Nanas brine recipe and then sliced to about 1" thick and froze until ready to use. Thawed the pork and followed the recipe as is. Definitely a keeper. So moist and tender and the sauce was delicious. I thought it would be too sweet but it was perfect. I used Bullseye bbq sauce. Thanks for a keeper weldin-an-cookin
I didnt have any apple butter so I substituted applesauce. I also let these marinate overnite. Very tender and delicious
Fantastic Guests loved it I used pear butter instead of apple butter and it turned out really good
This was delicious. I didnt have apple butter, but I did have peach jam and apple sauce. I served it up with sweet corn and potato salad. So good Great marinade. Thank you for sharing.
Very delicious. Very small bite to the bbq sauce but I used Jack Daniels though. Easy to prepare and easy to make. Highly recommend this recipe.
This was amazing. We decreased the amount of pepper considerably and it was superb This recipe is a keeper.
This was an easy and tasty marinade. Like reviewer Sugarplum, I subbed applesauce for apple butter. I also added a dash of Tapatio hot sauce for a little extra zing.
Made this the first time using maple-flavored BBQ sauce, marinated overnight, turned out really good, but a little sweet for my taste. The second time I used a mustard-based Carolina sauce, marinated again overnight -- Bingo Just a little tang, nothing overpowering.
We used center cut, no bone, chops, recommend 1) decrease the cooking time, if you do it in the oven by at least three minutes per side, so 7-minutes on each side and 2) dont use a tablespoon of pepper, way too spicy. Just maybe a teaspoon is plenty. Other than that it was perfect, we enjoyed it the sauce, is great.?
Pretty darn good chops I used my favorite BBQ sauce, Sticky Fingers Memphis, my own homemade apple butter, and boneless pork chops. Marinated them for more than two hours and my husband grilled them to perfection, about three minutes per side. They were flavorful, juicy and tender. Cant ask for more than that.
Amazing
Fantastic recipe, the pork chops were so moist and delicious
Yummy I halved the sauce for just 2 chops, I think that was still a bit too much sauce. I also cut up and apple, skewered it and basted it with the sauce, that was really good with the pork.Quick and easy week night dinner.
Make sure grill is not too hot so sauce soaks in rather than burning. Delicious
This recipe resulted in nice juicy, tender and flavorful chops that were easy to prepare with ingredients I had on hand. That warrants a definite 5 star rating in my book Thanks for sharing your recipe
